Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Sturdy Beacon LLC is committed to ensuring that the Sturdy Beacon website and the accidental-manager leadership course are accessible to the widest possible range of learners, including learners with disabilities. Accessibility is treated as a design requirement, not a retrofit — the standard is embedded in the course build process and in every content update.

Standard We Build To

To conform to WCAG 2.1 AA, the Company's design and build process includes each of the following:

• Color and contrast. All text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text specified by WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.3.
• Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse or touch input, in accordance with Success Criterion 2.1.1.
• Alternative text. Every meaningful image includes descriptive alternative text so learners using screen readers receive the same information as sighted learners, per Success Criterion 1.1.1.
• Semantic structure. Headings, lists, and landmarks are marked up using semantic HTML so assistive technologies can navigate the content, per Success Criterion 1.3.1.
• Focus visibility. A visible focus indicator is provided on all interactive elements, per Success Criterion 2.4.7.
• Text sizing. Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality, per Success Criterion 1.4.4.
• Media alternatives. Where audio or video is used in the course, captions and text alternatives are provided in accordance with Success Criteria 1.2.2 and 1.2.3.
• Language identification. The language of each page is declared programmatically, per Success Criterion 3.1.1.
• Form labeling. Every form field is programmatically associated with a visible label, per Success Criterion 3.3.2.
• Predictable behavior. Navigation and interaction patterns are consistent across the website and the course, per Success Criteria 3.2.3 and 3.2.4.

Current Status

The Company is actively building the website and the twelve-module course to the WCAG 2.1 AA standard described above. As of the Effective date at the top of this page, the standard is applied to all new content by design and by review. An independent third-party accessibility audit has not yet been commissioned; when one is completed, the results and any remediation status will be published on this page.

The Company acknowledges that no digital product is ever perfectly accessible on the first pass and that accessibility is a continuous discipline. Feedback from learners with disabilities is treated as high-priority information and is used to drive remediation.

Third-Party Platforms

The website and the course are delivered through the LearnWorlds learning management platform. LearnWorlds publishes its own accessibility documentation, which the Company reviews and relies on for platform-level accessibility. Payment processing is provided by Stripe, whose checkout interface is maintained to accessibility standards published by Stripe. Where a platform-level barrier is identified, the Company will raise the issue with the platform provider and, where appropriate, implement a workaround at the course level.

Assistive Technologies Supported

The website and the course are designed to work with common combinations of browser, operating system, and assistive technology, including recent versions of:

• NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows with Chrome, Edge, or Firefox;
• VoiceOver on macOS with Safari, and on iOS with Safari;
• TalkBack on Android with Chrome;
• Windows Narrator with Edge;
• Keyboard-only navigation across all supported browsers.

If you use an assistive technology outside the combinations above and encounter a barrier, the Company still wants to hear about it and will investigate the specific case.

Reporting a Barrier or Requesting Assistance

If you encounter a barrier to using the website or the course, or if you need content provided in an alternative format, write to hello@sturdybeacon.com with the following information, to the extent you are able to provide it:

• The web address of the page where you encountered the barrier;
• A description of the barrier and what you were trying to do;
• Your operating system, browser, and any assistive technology you were using;
• The best way to reach you with a response.

The Company will acknowledge your message within five (5) business days, provide an initial response with next steps within ten (10) business days, and remediate confirmed barriers as quickly as reasonably practicable. Where remediation will take longer, the Company will offer an alternative means of accessing the content in the meantime.

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the Company's response to an accessibility concern, you may lodge a complaint with the appropriate authority in your jurisdiction, including:

• In the United States, the US Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division;
• In the European Union, the national enforcement body under the European Accessibility Act;
• In the United Kingdom, the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Changes to This Statement

This Accessibility Statement is a living document. The Company will update it when the audit status changes, when new supported technologies are added, when remediation of known issues is completed, and at least annually. Material changes will be reflected in an updated Effective date at the top of this page.
